How they spread here
Bed bugs are hitchhikers. They travel in luggage, backpacks, secondhand furniture, and boxes, and they move easily between units in apartments and shared housing. A city built around a large university, with the turnover and travel that comes with it, gives them plenty of chances to spread.
Signs of bed bugs
Common signs are small itchy bites in a line or cluster, tiny blood spots or dark specks on the sheets, shed skins near the mattress seams, and live bugs tucked into the mattress seams, box spring, headboard, and nearby cracks. By the time most people notice, the infestation has usually had time to establish, which is why a careful inspection matters.
How bed bug control works
Control lives or dies on the inspection. Every harborage spot, from mattress seams and frames to baseboards and furniture joints, gets mapped, then treated directly, with a follow-up to catch survivors and newly hatched eggs. Prep like laundering and reducing clutter makes the treatment stick.
